Thanks to all of the donors to Kindness In A Box, a new medical clinic will be opening in 2018. Doctors and medical staff from the District of Maras Hospital will be coming to Kacllaraccay once a month to provide medical care for the children and their families. Also, a partnership has been developed between KIAB, the Maras Hospital and the Goldfarb School of Nursing @BJC in St. Louis, MO. There will be a group of 25 nurses and medical professionals coming to Maras, Peru in April 2018 to provide medical services to the Maras Hospital, at the KIAB Medical Clinic, to Mullacas, Kacllaraccay and several other villages. We hope this partnership and medical project will be the beginning of providing medical services to Quechua families in the villages where there currently is none.
"It's been twelve years since I hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and saw the impoverished, indigenous Quechua people. I knew immediately that I would help them make a better life for themselves and their children. I continue to be humbled by the Quechua people, their grace and dignity. They are the guardians of ancient cultures and traditions and like all of us, only want what is best for themselves and their children".....
